It is designed inside an actual broad-gauge railway coach, offering visitors the experience of dining aboard a stationary train overlooking the city’s famous Upper Lake. The venue blends nostalgia for Indian rail travel with lakeside views, making it one of Bhopal’s most recognizable dining attractions.
Concept and Ambience
Bhopal Express is celebrated as the world’s first full-scale restaurant housed in a repurposed rail coach. Its interiors replicate a luxury train such as the Maharaja Express, complete with coach-style seating, window screens showing moving scenery, and railway memorabilia. Outside, a “platform” area offers open-air dining accompanied by live music on weekends.
